We had a foggy morning here in Klamath Falls so we took our DJI Phantom up for a look on top. The fog layer was just starting to break up and was pretty thin so it was a good opportunity. When you fly like this it's always a good idea to do a very complete pre-flight check. Checking to make sure you have a reliable flight battery, a very good GPS lock before take off, and props mounted tight all go along way! Another thing you have to do is plan your power consumption accordingly. By cutting your usual flight time in half, you leave your self some safety margin just in case your landing takes longer than you anticipated. This avoids the risk of running out of battery power at altitude, which is easy to do when you can't see the indicator light on the Phantom.
